About Us
The Village School for Girls is an inclusive and nurturing school, where we offer our girls meaningful and exciting learning experiences that go well beyond the curriculum, from the age of 2. Our size is our strength; we are unashamedly small and this ensures passions can be identified and individual talent nurtured.
We are a family oriented, happy and high-achieving learning community where the child is at the centre of everything we do. Nestled between Hampstead Heath and Primrose Hill, our community spirit embraces the ‘we not me’ and adopts a progressive teaching approach that results in impressive academic achievement. A close, working partnership with parents underpins all that we do and enables us to give each child the very best start in life.
At the heart of our school is our motto ‘Ad Astra’ (To the Stars) and we are committed to providing an inspiring, educational journey that enables not only academic success but also fosters life skills which will provide our pupils with the ability to think critically, be creative, work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
We focus on holistic well-being as a priority, inspiring a culture of inclusiveness and emotional intelligence throughout the school. We have high expectations for our pupils both in and outside the classroom and our girls are always encouraged to give their best.
Facilities
The school is housed in a light, spacious Edwardian house in the residential area of Belsize Park, NW3. The main building accommodates all the classrooms which are equipped with interactive whiteboards; a library; a Creative Lab; a music room; and first aid room. Our girls are taught in small classes surrounded by exceptional facilities including a half-acre of outdoor space.
Behind the school there is a:
- Full-sized floodlit netball court
- Large, grassed area
- Climbing and play apparatus
- An outdoor classroom
- Fruit trees and herb gardens
Beyond this space you will find Bigsby Hall, a purpose-built theatre complete with:
- full stage lighting
- retractable seating
- a heated wooden floor
- large backstage area
In addition to multiple productions, the hall is used for gymnastics, dance, ballet, yoga, indoor games and fencing, as well as serving the school its lunch every day.
The substantial outside space, together with the main hall, makes The Village School for Girls a fantastic setting for a child’s education.

“I think the Village School is everything that you would want in a primary school for girls and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.”
