The Village Tapestry
At The Village School for Girls, education is about a passion for learning, a curiosity that allows children to go off on tangents to explore a subject more deeply, to develop a lack of fear in any subject, and to have a confidence in their ability to be able to discuss any topic, supported with imaginative ideas, both orally and in written form.
We believe in the individual.
We believe in understanding and acknowledging their learning mindset and their approach to learning. We believe in adapting the curriculum to the needs of the individual and not the other way round.
We take the UK National Curriculum and weave our own, unique threads to create a truly bespoke, individualised learning framework that is tailored to our school’s specific needs, culture and the aspirations of our children.
We call our bespoke learning framework The Village School for Girls Tapestry, and this framework consists of six strands.
MINDSET
Developing a life-long learning mindset is central to The Village School for Girls Tapestry. We ensure our students are open-minded, inquisitive, and able to make the most of their choices and talents.
DIGITAL LITERACY
Our students will be able to access and engage with the digital world at their fingertips. They will learn how to consume, understand and produce digital work to compete in - and contribute to - a digital world.
HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Valuing the health, wellbeing and self-worth of our pupils is at the heart of our culture. Our learning approach equips our students with the toolkit to develop their minds, their passions and their resilience.
GLOBAL
We are fortunate to have a richly diverse and inclusive school community. Every one of our students should feel at one with the world in which they live, developing a deep understanding and empathy for all cultures and societies. Every subject is placed in a global context, providing ample opportunities for our girls to discuss, debate and challenge.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Village School for Girls Tapestry integrates future-focused learning and transferable skills in entrepreneurship and innovation.
