We are delighted to announce that The Village Prep School has received an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Report, following its inspection in February. This comes immediately after our Third Form girls achieved their ‘best ever’ results in the 11+ exams which in itself was a tremendous accomplishment.
Founder and CEO of Chatsworth Schools, Anita Gleave wrote;
“I could not be prouder of our girls or our staff! During the inspection they were their usual amazing selves but given the circumstances were not phased. Our staff, whilst often nervous and stressed, did not show it or let it interfere with their responsibilities or their priorities.
“Pupils told us they love learning. They relish the challenges teachers set for them. When they find the work hard, teachers encourage them to keep on trying and not give up.”
True resilience!
“Parents and carers are overwhelmingly positive about the school. One typically wrote: `The school provides a safe space for the girls to develop. They create a real thirst and excitement for knowledge, a place to have so much fun, and instil wonderful values of friendship.’
As I said to the Inspector, Outstanding does not mean perfect and we know that we are not. We will continue to strive to improve. There is clear mention of improvements needed in Early Years. Our Director Viv Thompson had already begun work on this through a carefully created Action Plan which was welcomed and praised by the inspectors. You will begin to see the fruits of this in the very near future. Additionally, our plans for the outdoor classroom and various academic initiatives will continue to be rolled out.
Village Prep is a real team effort and the Chatsworth leadership are proud to support them, in all they do for our girls. I, on behalf of the wider Chatsworth Schools group, wish to thank and congratulate Graeme and his staff, but especially our fabulous girls…. truly OUTSTANDING!”
